The Quiet Volume Ant Hampton, Tim Etchells

The world-famous performer Ant Hampton will discover the as yet unknown character of a well-known place. Łaźnia Nowa organises yet another Art Urban project. This time the event will take place in the Regional Public Library in Cracow.

After Walking the City shown by artists from Germany (Ligna company) in Nowa Huta's Plac Centralny square, we present projects by two world-famous British artists: Ant Hampton and Tim Etchells.

The Quiet Volume has already been shown in Germany, Spain, the UK, Japan and Warsaw. Now it is turn for Cracow. This time the game with the audience will be played in the LIBRARY. The Quiet Volume is a whispered, interactive performance for two participants, taking place in a reading room. The performance explores the tension typical of libraries all over the world: the unique combination of silence and concentration, experienced by people immersed in reading.
