The production based on the famous, award winning novel by Olga Tokarczuk. Flights is a philosophical reflection and at the same time a praise of life in motion and the people who strive for bringing it to stillness – by means of the age-long practice of body mummification. Michał Zadara, the winner of “Polityka” Passports Award and Konrad Swinarski Award finds in Tokarczuk's fiction a way of narrating which allows to genuinely describe the world immersed in chaos: ambiguous, multi-dimensional, corresponding to the cacophony and discords of contemporary experience. The performance is true to the poetics of the novel. It is a description of our experience of the world, which is impossible to standardize.
“Olga Tokarczuk's books are born in front of our eyes the new classics of the new era – the world which has refused to be coherent for good. This coherence is not even the object of longing anymore; we are getting accustomed to disintegration,” says the director.
